Polycystic kidney disease:

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is a heritable illness categorized by the growth of many cysts in the kidneys. The kidneys are two organs placed in the higher part of a human's stomach, near the back, both of them are approximately the size of a handful. The kidneys help clean the blood and particularly fluid from the blood to produce the urine. Kidneys also control the quantities of some vital substances in the human’s body. When a cyst is form in the kidneys, they are full with liquid. Cysts can deeply increase the kidneys as replacing abundant of the usual structure, producing to reduce the kidney function and leading to kidney breakdown. The symptoms that humans get when they have this illness are the following ones:
  • Stomach painexternal image PolycysticKidney.jpg
  • Inflammation
  • Blood in the urine
  • Extreme urination at night
  • Flank pain on one or both sides
  • Sleepiness
  • High blood pressure
  • Joint pain
  • Nail abnormalities
  • Painful menstruation
The Polycystic kidney disease appears most in adult life, its more common than it occur in
babies and children.

A genetic disease happens when one or both parents pass irregular genes to a child at the be

ginning. Getting an irregular gene from just one of the parent is sufficient to generate an illness in the child, the illness have to have a main inheritance. A genetic disease can furthermore happen through a natural mutation.
The risk of obtaining a main illness is superior to the risk of getting a recessive illness. A child who gets just one gene imitation for a recessive illness at start will not grow the genetic disease-such as autosomal recessive
PKD-but might
pass the gene to the next generation. In other words if the child gets the disease because one of the parents have it would be a 50-50 chance of developing the illness.

The benefits of Polycystic kidney disease is that there are many ways to prevent from dying of that illness, for example having a transplant kidneys is one of the ways. Also that its not necessary two have to kidneys in the human body, you can live life with having just one. Moreover, another benefit is that there are treatments for this kind of illness, which can prevent and slow down loss of kidney function. These incorporates:
  • Controls of blood pressure
  • Timely treatment of every bladder or
kidney diseases

The limitations of Polycystic kidney disease is that if the disease is not diagnostic at time the disease can impact important organs, which would complicate more the situation. Also some women with polycystic kidney disease have an increased threat for severe problems for themselves and their babies. It involves women with polycystic who also have:

  • High blood pressure
  • Decreased kidney function

Moreover, people who have polycystic kidney disease can only do certain exercise like swimming, biking and walking; they can’t do activities that are possibly harmful to the kidney like contact sports. While doing the sports not to become too dehydrated which is really important if you have polycystic kidney disease.

Polycystic kidney disease associates with social, due that they are treated differently compare to healthy humans. For example as mention before people that have polycystic kidney disease can’t do certain sports or exercise that can damage the kidneys. Another example is what they eat, they can’t eat so much salt, so they try not to put so much salt to food like healthy people would do. In addition, they can’t smoke, and they prevent being close to the smoke of Tabaco.

Having this disease is very important to control your blood pressure frequently. Having to be done surgery to drain the cysts is expensive; also the transplant of kidneys is expensive, the drugs that you need to take for slowing down the loss of kidney function are expensive. Having this disease is very expensive for people to still live a healthy life without pain.
