Crohn’s disease

Crohn's disease, regional enteritis, ileitis or granumatous ileocolitis is a disorder in the autoimmune system, wich later causes an inflamation in the gastrointestinal tract.
This disorder causes the immune system to attack healthy tissues and harm them. The tissues involved in this disease are the small intestine, the large intestine, the rectum or the mouth, and depending of the affected area it is determined in one of the different types.
the exact cause of this disease is unknown, but there are several variables that can influence in having it, like a genetic alteration, environmental factors or an over reaccion of the inmune system, as I mentioned before.
This disease may happen at any age, but it normally occurs between 15 years and 35 years old, and you are more likely to have it if you have history of family with it, smoke, swallow gums or are jewish.

The effects of this disease can be between a soft pain when swallowing up to having a chronic inflammation, wich results later in a scar in the gastrointestinal tract, and this makes swallowing difficult and painful.
This illness is very easy to confuse with other gastrointestinal disorder because its symptoms are very similar to other disorders.
